Product/Application Management

Ship software, never touch a device

Distribute, update, and roll back applications across your fleet without a single site visit. Managed Google Play, private APKs, staged rollouts, and automatic rollback keep every release safe.

Distribution

Every app, every install path

Whatever your apps are and wherever they come from, Hive gets them onto the right devices without anyone tapping install.

01

Managed Google Play & Private Apps

Publish through Managed Google Play or distribute private, internally built apps, both delivered the same silent way.

02

Direct APK Distribution

Push a signed APK straight to devices for environments where the Play Store isn't an option, including air-gapped fleets.

03

Silent Installation & Updates

Installs and updates run in the background with no user interaction, no prompts, no tap to accept.

04

Managed App Configuration

Pre-configure app settings, credentials, and permissions at install time. Devices are ready to work the moment the app lands.

05

Allowlists & Blocklists

Control exactly which apps are permitted or blocked at the device, group, or organisation level.

06

Version Control

Pin, hold back, or force an app to a specific version across any part of the fleet.

Rollouts & maintenance

Stage it, schedule it

01

Pilot Groups & Staged Rollouts

Test a release on a handful of devices before it reaches the rest of the fleet, then expand in stages while watching failure rate in real time.

  • Pilot groups defined by site, device type, or saved filter
  • Staged rollout waves with configurable size and pacing
  • Rollout paused automatically if failure rate crosses your threshold
02

Maintenance Windows

Schedule installs and updates for the hours a device is idle, so a busy kiosk or POS terminal never interrupts a customer mid-transaction.

  • Per-site or per-timezone maintenance windows
  • Deferred installs that respect active-use hours
  • Emergency override for critical security patches
Release workflow

From build to fleet

A typical rollout, start to finish: the same six steps whether you're shipping to ten devices or ten thousand.

Questions

Application management, answered

What happens if a rollout fails partway through?

Hive halts the wave automatically once failures cross your configured threshold, and can revert affected devices to the previous version without anyone opening a ticket.

Can we mix Managed Google Play and private APKs on the same device?

Yes. A single device can run apps from both sources, each managed independently with its own update and rollback policy.

How do allowlists interact with app updates?

Allowlisted apps continue to receive silent updates automatically; anything not on the list is blocked from installing at all, even by the user.

Do maintenance windows delay security patches?

Only for standard updates. Critical security patches can be flagged to override maintenance windows and install immediately.
